Role Permissions
There are a variety of user account types and roles within NetDocuments. This structure allows NetDocuments to offer a flexible and secure environment for managing documents and users within and outside of an organization, ensuring that access and administrative capabilities are clearly defined and appropriately assigned. The tables below describe the different account types and role types as follows:
User Account
Description
Internal User
• Members of your firm are automatically part of the Internal Users Group.
• Added by a Repository Administrator and may have administrative functions.
• Billing is based on the number of Internal User accounts
External Users
• Individuals outside your firm (e.g. of counsel or auditor) given access to specific workspaces or folders.
• They cannot be administrators themselves and have a limited feature set.
CollabSpace User
• External User with access only to specific documents via CollabSpace, for secure document sharing.
Roles
Description
Repository Administrator
Internal Users who can administer the entire repository.
Full Administrator
Has access to all repository functions and may also manage cabinets.
Member Administrator
Limited to adding or removing users and their groups, without access to other administrator functions.
Cabinet Administrator
Can manage settings, policies, external users, and disable at the assigned Cabinet level only.
WSM Administrator
Workspace Security Manager (WSM) at the Cabinet level only with limited administrator rights.
