Factory Reset in Recovery Mode

Perform a factory reset on a Samsung Galaxy smart device in Recovery Mode.

Hard Reset Using Recovery Mode

Turn Off the Tablet: Press and hold the Power button and select Power off. If the screen is unresponsive, press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button together until the device powers off.
Boot into Recovery Mode:
1. Press and hold the Volume Up button and Power button simultaneously.
2. Release the Power button when the Samsung logo appears, but continue holding the Volume Up button until the Recovery Mode menu appears.
Highlight Wipe data/factory reset and press the Power button to select the highlighted option.
Confirm Factory Reset: Use the Volume buttons to highlight Yes and press the Power button to confirm.
Reboot System: Once the reset is complete, the menu will return to the main recovery screen. Highlight Reboot system now and press the Power button to restart the device.
